Welcome Aboard! Travel in comfort aboard our deluxe motor coach towards "The Sunshine State", Florida. Before checking into the Country Inn & Suites in Florence, South Carolina for the night, we are treated to a delicious dinner at a Cracker Barrel restaurant.

Day 2

After a buffet breakfast, we depart for Florida's northeastern-most shore, Amelia Island - Fernandina Beach, Florida. Upon our arrival, we meet our driver/guide and climb aboard Amelia Island Carriages for a 30-minute narrated horse-drawn carriage tour. Let the clippity-clop of the horses take you back to a simpler time as you tour historic Fernandina Beach. Learn about the history of Fernandina Beach and see the landmarks in a 50-block downtown district which is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. Also, the tour will acquaint you with the areas that you can walk to from your hotel. Our accommodations for the next two nights are at the Hampton Inn & Suites Amelia Island. The hotel overlooks the Fernandina Beach Marina and is located in the heart of the islands historic district which includes an eclectic collection of local stores, shops, galleries and boutiques, all within walking distance of the hotel. Nearby streets feature restored Victorian mansion and cottages. Tonight, we go out for a delicious dinner at Barbara Jean's overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway.

Day 3

After a deluxe continental breakfast we climb aboard the Amelia River Cruises for a narrated, historic and wildlife sightseeing cruise that takes you along salt marshes, wilderness beaches, and historic river banks. This unique cruise experience offers you the opportunity to hopefully encounter dolphins, manatees, sea otters, the wild horses of Cumberland Island National Seashore, and see a wide variety of shore birds wading along the shore and feeding. We'll discover Amelia Island's rich, colorful history and breathtaking natural beauty. Following our cruise, you are free to design the rest of your day and do as you wish! Experience the entertainment, restaurants, local stores, shops, galleries, boutiques, and museums all conveniently located within walking distance of the hotel. Tonight, dinner is on your own at any of the restaurants conveniently located within walking distance of the hotel.

Day 4

After a deluxe continental breakfast, we depart for Fort Clinch, one of the best-preserved Civil Era forts in the U.S. located in an enchantingly wooded state park. Upon our arrival, we meet our period reenactor guide and depart for a walking tour of Fort Clinch. A part of the Florida State Parks system since 1935, Fort Clinch is one of the most well-preserved 19th-century forts in the country. Although no battles were fought here, it was garrisoned during both the Civil and Spanish-American wars. During the 1930s, the Civilian Conservation Corps began preserving and rebuilding many of the structures of the abandoned fort. Following our tour, enjoy a delicious lunch at The Crab Trap Restaurant in Historic Downtown Fernandina Beach. Later we depart for our overnight accommodations at the Country Inn & Suites in Florence, South Carolina. A dinner stop will be made en route to Florence. Dinner is on your own.
