Day 1

Welcome Aboard! Settle back, relax and enjoy a leisurely drive to "The Mountain State," West Virginia. Our first destination is the Patsy Cline Historic House in Winchester, Virginia where Patsy lived with her mother and siblings. Walk where she walked, see where she slept, and hear stories about the formative years she spent living in the home while pursuing a career in music. A delicious buffet lunch is included at a local restaurant. We continue onto Elkins, West Virginia, where we spend two nights at The Isaac Jackson Hotel, nestled in the breathtaking Allegheny Mountains. You will have time to unwind and freshen up before we go out for dinner and entertainment at The Gandy Dancer Dinner Theatre. The evening includes a delicious plated dinner, followed by a 2-hour Branson-style show with music that spans the 1950's through today. Enjoy country, pop, Motown, gospel, and patriotic music provided by the Mountain Memories Show Band. This musical extravaganza featuring a terrific cast of singers, dancers, comedians and musicians will entertain all!

Day 2

After a deluxe continental breakfast we depart for the New Tygart Flyer, a classic streamliner from the 1930's. We will embark on a 4-hour round trip train ride through West Virginia's majestic wilderness. On board, you will find a souvenir shop, comfortable seating, and a delicious hobo lunch that is included. The excursion features a stop at the "High Falls of the Cheat". Situated in a spruce and laurel grove far from any human activity, the falls, 150' wide and 18' high are accessible only by rail. Disembark the train and you will find a set of trails and viewing platforms. Following our train ride we stroll across the rail yard to attend a matinee performance at the American Mountain Theatre. Settle back and enjoy a journey through America's musical past highlighting the popular musical styles of each decade beginning with the early 1900's to today. After the show we return to the hotel to rest, relax and freshen up before going out for dinner. Following dinner enjoy tonight's entertainment, a Branson-style family friendly music, comedy and variety show at the American Mountain Theatre.

The 3-½ hour train excursion from Cumberland to Frostburg, (round trip), is an entertaining and education experience riders of all ages and interest will enjoy. A delicious lunch is included today. A highlight of your trip will be a 1-½ hour layover in Frostburg, Maryland.
