Join Gunther Tours today and visit one of the oldest Zoos in the United States, The Smithsonian’s National Zoo located in the heart of northwest Washington, D.C.’s Rock Creek Park.  Part of the Smithsonian Institution, the world’s largest museum, the National Zoo is committed to conservation, research, and education.  Founded in 1889, the Zoo sits on 163 acres and is home to more than 1,500 animals across 300 different species.  See some of the Zoo’s most interesting animals including birds, Asian elephants, big cats, great apes, aquatic mammals, reptiles and the Zoo’s most popular residents, the always amazing and entertaining Giant Pandas.  Many of the animals you will view today are endangered or threatened.  Please be aware that certain attractions, including the Speedwell Conservation Carousel, along with animal demonstrations and outdoor animal viewing is weather permitting.  A box lunch is included today.  Please provide a meal choice when making your reservations.  Your choices are Ham Club Wrap, Turkey Club Wrap, Chicken Salad Wrap or Veggie Wrap.
