Day 2

After a buffet breakfast, we depart for the Virginia Aquarium Dock to set sail on our Whales & Wildlife Sea Adventure boat cruise. Our 2 to 2-½ boat cruise will take us in search of these aquatic giants as they migrate up the coast of Virginia. The opportunity to spot these majestic creatures off the Virginia coast is one you won't soon forget. Be sure to bring a camera! Witness the power, energy and majesty of humpback, fin and minke whales as they play and jump for your enjoyment taking advantage of a food-rich environment! Watch for bottlenose dolphins, harbor porpoises, and harbor seals, as well as an immense variety of seabirds and waterfowl. You never know what you may encounter, so don't miss this magical adventure! Following our boat cruise, we enjoy a delicious lunch at Rockafeller's Restaurant, one of Virginia Beach's favorite dining spots, loved by locals and tourists for its casual elegance and waterfront views. Next, we visit the Military Aviation Museum for a guided tour. If you are a history buff then Military Aviation Museum is sure to delight! Known for their interesting collection of planes, it's here that you can see and learn about the aircraft used during World War I and II. The facility is divided into Army, Navy, and World War I hangars. Also, there is a factory on-site where early aircraft are painstakingly restored to their original glory. There are a number of planes for you to admire, including: a P-51 Mustang, AD-4 Skyraider, and Polikarpov I-153. All are sure to intrigue aficionados of aviation! Later we return to the hotel where you will have time to sit, relax and freshen up before going out for dinner on your own at a local restaurant.

Day 3

After a buffet breakfast, we depart for the Cape Henry Lighthouse. One of the oldest surviving lighthouses in the United States and designated as a National Historic Landmark, the Old Cape Henry Lighthouse is a stunning lighthouse that dates back to 1792. Standing near the "First Landing" site where English settlers arrived in 1607, the Cape Henry Lighthouse is the first federally funded lighthouse that was built to guide maritime commerce at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay. Feeling adventurous? You can climb to the top of the lighthouse and enjoy the spectacular view it affords. Don't forget to visit the museum store before we depart for home by way of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, the 17-mile link on U.S. Rt. 13, which links the Delmarva Peninsula with southwestern Virginia. As we travel along this engineering marvel, we will make a photo-stop at the scenic overlook (weather and traffic permitting) that offers breathtaking views of the powerful Atlantic Ocean and the beauty of the Chesapeake Bay.
