Today’s trip on the Wilmington & Western Railroad will take you back to a time when the steam locomotive ruled the rails. You will travel round trip in antique passenger coaches pulled by a coal-burning steam locomotive or an early-generation diesel locomotive. From your seat on the vintage train, you’ll see the past as never before. History will come alive, senses will be excited, and a forgotten era will be relived, and you just might have a little fun along the way! Experience the golden age of railroading as you chug across bridges, clickety-clack through lush tall forests, wind through narrow rock cuts, and whistle past homes in the beautiful valley of the Red Clay Creek.
