Announcing a spectacular “New Holiday Tour” to Tara – A Country Inn!  Lined with thousands of white lights, the dazzling grounds beckon you to enter and enjoy the warmth of the fireplaces and spectacular decorations within the walls of Tara – A Country Inn!  Each year multitudes of trees and garlands are hand-decorated with loving care to bring the joy of the season to all who visit!  Ho! Ho! Ho! Who wouldn’t want to go on this “New Holiday Tour!”

Day 1

Welcome Aboard! Join Gunther Tours for a yuletide season get-away to Clark, Pennsylvania, where you will be transported back in time, be part of history and create your own special "Gone with the Wind" story at Tara - A Country Inn! Inspired by the iconic 1939 movie "Gone with the Wind", Tara offers you a lasting impression of Southern Hospitality and a chance to enjoy the luxuries of days gone by. Upon our arrival, you will be greeted by the friendly staff and be taken on a tour of the 1854 antebellum mansion. Tara is a virtual museum of "Gone with the Wind" memorabilia and Civil War artifacts. After our tour, enjoy a High Tea at Tara with petite sandwiches, desserts and an assortment of teas. To make sure you feel pampered, each well-appointed guestroom is decorated for Christmas, includes a fireplace and has either a Jacuzzi or sunken tub. Prior to dinner this evening, relax in your luxurious accommodations and marvel at the splendor and elaborate holiday décor of this fabulous Country Inn, including the Gardens decorated for the holidays and Remington statues, the beautiful 450-acre Shenango Lake, the in-door pool, Stonewall's Tavern and gift shop . . . relaxation at its finest! Tonight, a savory family-style dinner will be served in the "Old South Restaurant". A special musical surprise is included at dessert. (D)

Day 2

After a bountiful Old-Fashioned Christmas morning holiday breakfast, it's a short ride to Hermitage, Pennsylvania and Kraynak's "Santa's Christmas Land" a 300-foot, indoors starlight avenue of more than 60 uniquely designed artificial Christmas trees. Each tree has a specific theme that is enhanced and complimented by twinkling lights, scenery and a magical array of life-like animated characters. Don't forget to visit the gift shop for some great holiday shopping. Here you will find Christmas trees to lights, ornaments, stockings, candles, and more yuletide indoor and outdoor décor for your decorating at home. If you aren't in the Christmas mood when you arrive you sure will be by the time you leave! Next, we visit Daffin's Candies, "Home of the Chocolate Kingdom" in Sharon, Pennsylvania. Since 1949, Daffin's Candies has created high quality and locally made chocolates and other confections for purchase. A 400-pound Chocolate Turtle, a 125-pound Chocolate Reindeer, 75-pound Chocolate Frogs, and more magical chocolate creations inhabit The Chocolate Kingdom! Free samples are given! We stop at the nearby original motor-themed restaurant Quaker Steak & Lube for a casual lunch. Opened in March 1974 in a vacant automobile service station, the restaurant is decorated with license plates and old automobiles. Following lunch, we tour Buhl Mansion. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this 1890 Romanesque castle is steeped in history. The opulent home built by steel magnate, Frank Buhl as a gift for his beloved Julia. Totally bedecked in holiday finery, Jim and Donna Winner lovingly restored Julia's "castle" to its original grandeur, offering guests a chance to experience the life of America's Gilden Age royalty. Next we visit The Winner Department Store, the world's largest off-price fashion store with four floors of savings, (up to 70% off regular retail prices), and Reyer's Shoe Store, the world's largest shoe store, with over 300 famous brands, and 175,000 pairs of shoes. Enjoy some shopping time and even greater savings with 10% off coupons, included. Imelda Marcos, eat your heart out! Reyer's has been name one of the best shoe stores in the world, and has been featured in Time Magazine, the USA Today Newspaper, and The David Letterman Show. We conclude our day of touring and travel and return to the Inn. You will have time to unwind and freshen up before enjoying a delicious family-style dinner this evening at the Inn. After dinner you may choose to take a dip in the in-door pool or gather in the Atlanta Lounge, the perfect place to spend time with the one you love or with your friends old and new for an after-dinner cordial. The intimate setting of the lounge reflects the Southern charm of Tara and invites you to sit down, relax and leave the cares of the world far away. Later retire to your luxurious accommodations for a good night's rest. (B, L, D)

Day 3

After an Old-Fashioned Christmas morning holiday breakfast, we depart for Castle Noel in Medina, Ohio. Step into the world of Christmas Enchantment at America's largest indoors year-round Christmas entertainment attraction for a guided tour. Creator of Castle Noel and serial merry maker, Mark Klaus, has assembled over two million dollars' worth of animated New York City department store Christmas window displays. Castle Noel also houses the world's largest privately owned collection of Hollywood Christmas movie props and costumes from your favorite Christmas movies including "The Grinch", "Elf", "Santa Claus The Movie", "Fred Claus", "The Santa Claus 1, 2, & 3", "Jingle All The Way", "Christmas Carol", "Deck the Halls", and more. There are approximately 20 steps for the Castle Noels tour. As you are guided through this amazing collection of Christmas movie memorabilia and beautiful holiday decorations straight from the store windows of New York City, you will be transported back into time viewing the displays with all the wonder of a child! Next, it's a short walk to Miss Molly's Tea House for a tea luncheon. Enjoy lunch at Miss Molly's Tea House, a lavishly decorated Tea Room and Gift Shop. The Victorian décor takes you back in time to a gentler, more relaxing period in our country's history. After lunch we visit Root Candles. Now in its fifth generation, (150 years), the Root family continues to extol the virtues of honesty, integrity, and diligent craftsmanship. Root Candles devotion to purity, honesty and quality is renowned, and today, Root Candles can confidently lay claim to making "the best candles in America". Before returning to Tara, a delicious dinner and a holiday attraction is included. Tonight, we are treated to a delicious dinner at Papa Joe's, an institution in Akron, Ohio since 1932, serving fine food with an Italian flair for four generations. Following dinner, we depart for a self-guided tour of Stan Hywet Hall. The elaborate 65-room Manor House at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens hosts its annual holiday celebration - "Deck the Halls". Rooms are decorated with inspiration from nature and in heavenly fashion complete with harps and angels. Night music, tree lighting, ¾ million lights, and a special light show to four songs are included. Take time to treat yourself to hot cider, cocoa and warm ginger cookies in the carriage house courtyard before departing for Tara and a good night's sleep. It has been a marvelous day packed with holiday celebration! (B, L, D)

Day 4

After enjoying a delicious Old-Fashioned Christmas morning holiday breakfast and a surprise Holiday gift for all, we settle back and enjoy a holiday themed movie on our drive home. Filled with new yuletide memories from our amazing holiday get-away, we reminisce about chocolates and candles; a grandly decorated castle and mansion; Hollywood Christmas props and costumes and enchanting animated window displays; a relaxing tea luncheon and great bargain shopping; and your own delightful "Gone with the Wind" Christmas story created while enjoying your time at Tara - A Country Inn.
