Day 1

Welcome Aboard! Calling on all "Lobster Lovers" to travel with Gunther Tours to Rockland, Maine for the annual Maine Lobster Festival, an internationally recognized celebration of local seafood! The Maine Lobster Festival attracts thousands of seafood enthusiast each year to Rockland, Maine with the promise of fresh, local lobster dinners, nationally renowned entertainers, cooking contests, carnival rides, Maine craftsmen and artists. Our first destination is the legendary town of Newport, Rhode Island. Upon our arrival you will have some time to explore the Brick Market Place, an open-air market, and browse its many specialty shops, galleries and boutiques along the waterfront. Before we continue onto Billerica, Massachusetts, where we spend the night at the Hampton Inn, we are treated to a delicious dinner at a local restaurant in Newport. (D)

Day 2

After breakfast we travel to the town of Freeport, Maine, the home of L.L. Bean, where you will have some time to leisurely browse and shop. Lunch is on your own. Voted the "Best Weekend of Shopping in New England" by Yankee Magazine Readers, Freeport is celebrated for its great outlet shopping and waterfront setting. Following our time spent in Freeport, we depart for Bar Harbor, Maine and the Bluenose Inn for the next two nights. The Inn is a luxurious property featuring tastefully decorated rooms and a glass front elevator, an indoor heated pool and spa, a Great Room lounge with piano entertainment nightly, and panoramic views of Frenchman Bay. Gorgeous views of Frenchman Bay await us while we are served a savory lobster dinner in the Looking Glass Restaurant, located at the hotel. (B, D)

Day 3

After breakfast we depart for downtown Bar Harbor for a 2-hour nature cruise on Frenchman Bay. Enjoy the coastal Maine scenery as we cruise past waterfront mansions and Acadia National Park. A naturalist on board will narrate the cruise as you search for local wildlife including seals, harbor porpoises, osprey and eagles! We visit downtown Bar Harbor following our cruise, for some leisure time, shopping and lunch on your own. This afternoon we meet our driver/guide and climb aboard Oli's Trolley for a 2-½ tour of Acadia National Park. Initially created in 1916, the park was given its current name of Acadia in 1929, and is the oldest American national park east of the Mississippi River. Included on our tour is a photo-stop at the Summit of Cadillac Mountain, the highest of Mount Desert's seventeen peaks, for spectacular views of the surrounding mountains, bay and islands beyond! After returning to the Inn you will have time to sit, relax and freshen up before going out for a traditional Maine lobster dinner at Bar Harbor Lobster Bakes, a perennial favorite of the locals in town! Day 4

After breakfast, we depart for Maine's lobster capital of Rockland, Maine. We attend the Maine Lobster Festival, overlooking the city's picturesque waterfront and beautiful Penobscot Bay. It's a fun-filled event where feasting and festivities perfectly complement each other, including: fresh, local lobster (lobster lunch included), Arts & Crafts Tent, entertainment, tours of the Rockland Coast Guard Station and much, much more! Within walking distance, you can visit the town's local shops, restaurants, Maine Lighthouse Museum with its variety of historical lighthouse memorabilia, the Farnsworth Museum with its famous Wyeth art exhibits or just sit by the harbor and enjoy the cool, salt breezes and Maine's famous seafood! After departing the festival, we continue onto Portland, Maine for a photo-stop at the Portland Head Light, the oldest lighthouse in Maine. The lighthouse was commissioned by George Washington and built in 1791. Before checking into the Hampton Inn in Billerica, Massachusetts for the night, we are treated to dinner at a Cracker Barrel Old Country Store. A $20.00 gift card is provided for you. (B, L, D)

Day 5

After breakfast, we depart for home taking with us special memories of Maine's majestic forest and mountain, port cities, spectacular harbors and coastline, and taste buds filled with the mouthwatering flavors of amazing Maine lobster and seafood! (B)
