Travel to the Majestic Theater in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania to see an evening performance of A Tribute to Aretha Franklin: The Queen of Soul.  An American singer, songwriter, pianist, and civil rights activist with a legendary career spanning several generations and multitude of genres, Aretha Franklin truly earned her title, “The Queen of Soul”.  Beloved by musicians and listeners alike, Aretha is recognized as the most successful female recording artist in history with 112 charting singles on Billboard, 18 Grammy Awards, over 75 million records sold, and in 1987, Aretha Franklin became the first female artist to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  Undeterred by health issues, Aretha Franklincontinued to perform well into the later years of her illustrious life, and during this time, musician, vocalist, and composer Damien Sneed toured along with Aretha, developing a strong mentee relationship with the soul legend.  In A Tribute to Aretha Franklin: The Queen of Soul, Sneed pays homage to the monarch herself with fresh renditions of her most cherished hits including “Respect,” “Knew You Were Waiting,” “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” “Precious Memories,” “Think,” “Until You Come Back to Me,” “Daydreaming,” “Freeway of Love,” “Natural Woman,” “I Say a Little Prayer,"  and others.  Damien Sneed has created a tender and spiritual reflection upon the life of Aretha Franklin, the undisputed Queen of Soul, with his amazing multi-media production, backed by an accomplished cast of jazz, gospel, and soul musicians and vocalists.  You won’t want to miss this spectacular tribute show!  Before the show enjoy a delicious buffet dinner at Dobbin House Tavern.  The restaurant offers you a unique dining experience in a historic 1776 stone home beautifully and authentically restored as a colonial manor restaurant, bed & breakfast, and a gift shop.  (D)
