Day 1

Welcome Aboard! Travel in comfort aboard our deluxe motor coach as we make our way north towards the resort town of Ogunquit, Maine, a seaside town on Maine's southern coast. This delightful coastal community is home to Ogunquit Beach, a long, sandy peninsula with grassy dunes, which lies between the Atlantic Ocean and the Ogunquit River. After checking into the luxurious Anchorage by the Sea for the next three nights, we conclude our travel day with a delicious dinner at the hotel's restaurant. Ogunquit's premier waterfront resort offers heated pools and hot tubs, and has direct access onto the Marginal Way, a cliff walk with spectacular views of the surrounding coastline, benches, and a lighthouse.

Day 2

After breakfast we meet our step-on guide, and depart for a day of Maine sightseeing. We begin with a tour of York, Maine, one of the nation's oldest cities, originally settled in 1624. Included on our tour is a photo-stop at the Nubble Lighthouse, one of the most frequently photographed and painted lighthouses on the New England coast. Our tour continues onto Kennebunkport to view Colonial Mansions, a drive past former President Bush's summer estate on Walker's Point, and the Wedding Cake House, a treasured local landmark. We will stop at the St. Anthony Franciscan Monastery, an active monastery, where you can experience the beauty and serenity of the monastery grounds, designed by Frederick Law Olmstead Brothers. Explore the English gardens, walking paths, statuaries, outdoor grotto, and shrine, plus the Chapel with stained glass from Lithuania, and gift shop by the chapel. Following our tour, you will have free time to enjoy exploring Dock Square, nestled in the center of downtown Kennebunkport, with its galleries, shops, and restaurants. After lunch on your own, we depart for Portland, Maine. Portland is Maine's largest city, situated on Casco Bay at the beginning of the "Rocky Coast of Maine." The tour of Portland will take us into Portland's beautifully preserved Victorian district, and past the grand dame of Portland architecture, the "Victoria Mansion," and the Wadsworth Longfellow House, where four generations of one remarkable family lived, and made significant contributions to the political, literary, and culture life of New England and the United States. We will also view Portland's busy, working waterfront and Casco Bay Islands. A photo-stop will be included at Portland Harbor Lighthouse. Following our tour enjoy some leisure time at Portland's renovated Old Port area browsing, shopping, and having dinner on your own before returning to our resort for a good night's sleep.
