If you are looking for a beautiful spring destination, think Tulip Time in Holland, Michigan!  The annual celebration and experience known as the Tulip Time Festival began in 1929 when the City of Holland saw its first crop of 100,000 tulips bloom.  Off the shores of Lake Michigan, the city of Holland, Michigan has continued to bloom each spring with millions of tulips, and the Tulip Time Festival has grown to be much more than a flower festival with activities for all ages.  The Tulip Time Festival includes tulip gardens; a Dutch village; an authentic Dutch windmill; Dutch klompen, (clog) dancing; entertainment; spectacular parades; a craft fair; fireworks; and much more!  Tulip Time is truly an experience you do not want to miss with Gunther Tours!

Day 1

Welcome Aboard! Travel in comfort aboard our deluxe motor coach to one of America's most colorful award-winning spring festivals, the Holland Tulip Festival in Holland, Michigan. Before checking into our hotel in Rossford, Ohio for the night, we are treated to a delicious dinner at The Spaghetti Warehouse Restaurant in Toledo, Ohio, a family-friendly American Italian restaurant.

Day 2

After breakfast we depart for Holland, Michigan. It is tulip time in Holland and the town is hosting the annual Tulip Time Festival that celebrates the blooming of the tulips, and the heritage of America's Dutch immigrants! Upon our arrival, we will visit Nelis' Dutch Village, an authentic recreation of a 19th century Dutch town and way of life. Enjoy Dutch architecture, flowering gardens, and canals as the local guides dressed in authentic costumes and wooden shoes bring the history and culture of the Dutch to life. Following lunch on your own, we meet our step-on guide and depart for a tour of Holland. The tour will take us through Holland's historic areas, city parks, Hope College, a view of the windmill, tulip lanes, downtown Holland and concludes at a local restaurant for a delicious dinner, followed by entertainment. Later we depart for Grand Rapids, Michigan and our hotel accommodations for the next two nights at the Drury Inn & Suites, a perennial favorite of Gunther Tours travelers!

Day 3

After breakfast we are off to continue our exploration of Holland, Michigan. First, we visit the Tulip Immersion Garden to view over two million tulips in bloom. Next, stop at the Windmill Island Gardens. See the unique Dutch windmill, "De Zwann," America's only 265-year-old working Dutch windmill surrounded by a spectacular display of tulips! Following an included Dutch lunch and dance performance, we take our reserved grandstand seats for the festival's most popular event, the Volksparade. Colorful floats, high-energy marching bands, and more will entertain you! Tonight, we will conclude our time in Holland with a delicious dinner and entertainment. Afterwards we return to our hotel for a restful night's sleep.

Day 4

After breakfast we will visit Fredrik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park. Your visit will include a narrated tram tour. Discover the beauty and splendor of a Victorian garden that features plants from around the world, gardens and scenic waterfalls, outdoor nature trails, Michigan's largest tropical conservatory and an internationally acclaimed sculpture park with over one hundred sculptures by world-renowned artists. Next, we depart for Ed Dunneback and Girls Farm Market, a West Michigan treasure for over one hundred years. Enjoy a box lunch and prior to our departure, you will have time for browsing in the fresh produce market, gift shoppe, bakery, kitchen & tap room! Be sure to pick up that special souvenir while at the farm! Tonight, we will spend the night in Rossford, Ohio. A dinner stop will be made en route to Rossford. Dinner is on your own.

After breakfast we depart for home with a vivid appreciation for Dutch heritage, fond memories of the beauty of spring, and colorful visions filled with the spectacle of millions of tulips and vibrant spring flowers in bloom!
