Welcome to Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library for some 19th-century yuletide cheer. Experience the grand traditions of the past and enjoy dazzling entertaining displays. Upon our arrival, enjoy a ½-hour guided garden tram tour (weather permitting), meander along a re-created woodland path in the winter garden, walk through beautifully furnished rooms and elaborate holiday food displays, and view the many decorated trees on display during this special wintertime tour. Yuletide at Winterthur will delight you with visions of holidays of old and inspire you to create your own spectacular celebrations. Your family and friends will be inspired by Henry Francis du Pont’s dazzling home decorated in holiday style! Before our tour enjoy a delicious lunch at Buckley’s Tavern, a neighborhood tavern and restaurant located in the heart of historic Centreville, Delaware. The two-hundred-year-old building that now houses Buckley’s Tavern was originally built in 1817 as a private residence. Throughout the years the tavern was the site of a blacksmith shop and a tollgate to collect fees from those traveling to and from Wilmington, Delaware. In the 1930’s, the house became a popular taproom and ice cream store and in 1951 the proprietor gave the tavern its current name. Relax and enjoy the fellowship of friends old and new while you enjoy your meal! Please provide a meal choice when making your reservations. Your choices are Curried Chicken Salad Sandwich, French Dip Sandwich (roasted and shaved beef with provolone and creamy horseradish on a sub roll, with au jus), or Quiche Lorraine. Happy Holidays!
