Day 1
Welcome Aboard! Join your fellow adventurers for an unparalleled experience in the Adirondack Mountains at the 53rd Adirondack Balloon Festival. Our first destination is the Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport located in Queensbury, New York, where we will witness the amazing spectacle of 60 plus balloons launching (weather permitting). Share in the excitement and pageantry created by dozens of brilliantly colored balloons ascending into the sky. Later it is a short drive to Lake George, New York, to check into the Surfside on the Lake, a resort hotel overlooking Lake George and the Adirondack Mountains, for the next two nights. Tonight, we are treated to a delicious dinner at the hotel's Club Hamilton Restaurant.
DDay 2
There are two ways to view the balloons . . . stay in bed and hope they sail over the hotel or rise very early and return to the airport with your Gunther Tours manager and driver to witness this morning's balloon launch, (weather permitting). Later we return to the hotel for a delicious breakfast before we meet our step-on guide and depart for a tour of Lake George. Included on our tour is a drive on the Veteran's Memorial Highway up to the 2,030-foot summit of Prospect Mountain (weather permitting) to enjoy the spectacular 100-mile panoramic views of Lake George and the Adirondack Mountains. Next, we board the Lac du Saint Sacrement for a lunch and entertainment cruise on Lake George. Relax and enjoy your time on the water. The cruise features a narrated history of the lake, takes you past secluded islands, tranquil bays, and provides a unique view of the luxurious mansions along "Millionaire's Row". After our cruise, you are free to design the rest of your day and do as you wish! Experience the attractions, entertainment, restaurants, local shops, arcades, mini-golf, beaches, and pubs all conveniently located within walking distance of the hotel. Tonight, we go out to the airport to witness our final balloon launch, (weather permitting) before returning to our hotel for a delicious dinner, and a good night's sleep.
B, L, DDay 3
After breakfast we depart for the city of Saratoga Springs, New York, one of the oldest tourist destinations in the United States. Upon our arrival we meet our step-on guide and depart for a tour of Saratoga Springs. This exciting historical and cultural center, Saratoga Springs, is noted for its world-class attractions, thriving arts and culture, natural springs, friendly people, and a rich tradition of thoroughbred horse racing. Following our tour, enjoy some leisure time exploring Broadway Street, while browsing the many specialty shops and wonderful restaurants. Lunch is on your own. Next, we depart for home taking with us fond memories of the Adirondack Mountains and the unforgettable sight of dozens of colored balloons ascending into the sky!
