First, we will visit Bird-in-Hand Family Restaurant, located in Bird-in-Hand, Pennsylvania. If you crave hometown hospitality and authentic Amish food, Bird-in-Hand Family Restaurant will satisfy your appetite. From the all-you-can-eat family buffet enjoy your favorite dishes made from scratch using traditional Lancaster recipes perfected over generations. Also, included you will find plenty of farm-fresh deliciousness to sample at the soup-and-salad bar. Be sure to save room for the dessert buffet! Next, we make the short drive to The Barnyard Art Studio & Gallery in Lititz, Pennsylvania for a “Chalk Talk Experience”. Upon our arrival, step into the converted barn studio of Elva Hurst, and sit back, relax, and engage your senses through music and storytelling while you witness her amazing chalk artistry. She will create a single theme drawing while engaging you with the use of oral history and recordings. A former Old Order Mennonite, the artist offers insights into Amish culture with a story that comes to life (and lights up) before your eyes! Themed presentations range from “Memories of a Great Nation,” “Farm Memories,” “Our Great American Songs,” “Oh Christmas Tree” or “Faith & Forgiveness”. It truly is an inspirational and uplifting experience to behold, and one that you must see to believe!
