Welcome to Johns Hopkins University Museums for a very special day celebrating the holidays at the Evergreen Mansion. The former family home of Baltimore’s philanthropic Garrett family for two generations (1872-1942), today the Evergreen Museum & Library is home to the unique collection of fine and decorative arts, rare books and manuscripts assembled by the Garrett’s. Evergreen also serves as a vibrant, inspirational venue for contemporary artists. The mansion is a superb example of Gilded Age architecture set on twenty-six landscaped acres in Baltimore and is on the National Register of Historic Places. See the Mansion adorned simply with fresh greenery, spectacular seasonal decorations, and tour Evergreen’s 48 opulent rooms filled with over 50,000 of Garrett’s extraordinary and eclectic belongings with a docent-led guide. Note: Please make sure you are an able walker before booking onto this trip. Wear comfortable walking shoes (no heels). This tour is not suitable for people who have trouble with mobility!
