Day 1

Welcome Aboard! Sit back, relax, and enjoy a leisurely drive to Chincoteague Island, Virginia for an exciting "Girlfriend's Weekend Get-Away!" Our journey begins in the charming town of Berlin, Maryland, where small-town hospitality blends seamlessly with a vibrant cultural scene. Take time to stroll along the historic Main Street, browsing unique boutiques, antique shops, and art galleries. Upon arrival, we will sit down for a delicious lunch at the historic Atlantic Hotel. Built in 1895, the Atlantic Hotel has been a cornerstone of the Berlin community for more than 120 years, offering an authentic Maryland experience highlighted by Victorian-era charm and timeless elegance. Following lunch, we will participate in a fun and quirky treasure hunt, encouraging exploration of the town while creating memorable moments during this one-of-a-kind adventure. Later in the afternoon, we continue south along Route 113 corridor to Chincoteague Island, Virginia. Upon arrival, we will check into the Fairfield Inn & Suites Chincoteague Island Waterfront for a two-night stay. Our accommodations feature private waterfront balconies overlooking the Chincoteague Channel, providing the perfect setting to relax, visit with friends, and enjoy an adult beverage while taking in the picturesque island scenery. Ideally located in the heart of historic downtown Chincoteague, the hotel is within easy walking distance of charming shops, local restaurants, and museums. This evening, enjoy a delicious dinner at a local restaurant celebrated for its outstanding regional flavors.

Day 2

After breakfast the day begins with a narrated Island tour led by a knowledgeable step-on guide, offering engaging insight into Chincoteague's rich history and unique heritage. Next, the Island indulges visitors sweet tooths as the Historic Main Street Merchants Association hosts the 21st Annual "Death by Chocolate" event. Guests are invited to stroll through Chincoteague's Main Street district and participating businesses while sampling an array of decadent chocolate treats. This beloved event is a signature Chincoteague experience for chocolate lovers. Participants can enjoy a chocolate-themed scavenger hunt, collecting treats and stamps at each stop along the route. Completed cards may be entered into prize drawings featuring local merchandise, gift certificates, and one-of-a-kind Island experiences. The event encourages exploration of local shops while providing a fun and interactive way to enjoy the Island during the winter season. Following the festivities, the remainder of the afternoon is free to explore downtown Chincoteague at your leisure. Browse charming boutiques, stroll along the waterfront, and enjoy dinner on your own at one of the Island's inviting local restaurants, all within a relaxed, small-town atmosphere. As evening approaches, take time to witness one of Chincoteague Island's magical sunsets, when the sky glows in vibrant shades of gold and pink over the bay. Then, take your seats at the Island's own boutique movie theatre for an exciting, first-rate film at the historic Island Theater. This vintage downtown venue captures the spirit of small-town charm - proving that even a night at the movies feels special on Chincoteague Island. A bag of popcorn and a cool, refreshing drink are included for you to enjoy during the show.

Day 3

After breakfast we depart for Tanger Outlets in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Tanger Outlets' renowned "Mile of Style" features more than 130 outlet retailers spread across three distinct shopping centers, offering an exceptional, tax-free shopping experience. On our return journey, we stop at Layton's Chance Winery in Vienna, Maryland, for a tasting of select wines. Set on over 14 acres of picturesque vineyards, the winery offers time to browse the gift shop, featuring award-winning wines, unique gifts, and wine accessories. Following our visit, we begin our journey home, reflecting on a wonderful weekend spent with your best friend. The tour was highlighted by fond memories of participating in a treasure hunt, a chocolate-themed scavenger hunt, enjoying tax-free shopping in Delaware, and savoring award-winning wines.
