& Lunch at Buckley’s Tavern

Travel to Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania and spend an afternoon at one of the premier botanical gardens in the United States.  Enjoy acres of lush gardens, woodlands, and meadows in the Brandywine Creek Valley.  The Spring Blooms event celebrates the spectacular symphony of color of unique to spring and featuring burgeoning gardens of daffodils, tulips, magnolias, azaleas, flowering cherries and more than 240,000 flowering bulbs.  Indoors – lilies, delphiniums, hydrangeas, and other spring blossoms fill the conservatory with color.  Before our visit enjoy a delicious lunch at Buckley’s Tavern, a neighborhood tavern and restaurant located in the heart of historic Centreville, Delaware.  The two-hundred-year-old building that now houses Buckley’s Tavern was originally built in 1817 as a private residence.  Throughout the years the tavern was the site of a blacksmith shop and a tollgate to collect fees from those traveling to and from Wilmington, Delaware.  In the 1930’s, the house became a popular taproom and ice cream store and in 1951 the proprietor gave the tavern its current name.  Relax and enjoy the fellowship of friends old and new while you enjoy your meal!  Please provide a meal choice when making your reservations.  Your choices are Curried Chicken Salad Sandwich,   French Dip Sandwich (roasted and shaved beef with provolone and creamy horseradish on a sub roll, with au jus), or Quiche Lorraine
