Niagara Falls Festival of Lights 25

Day 1

Welcome Aboard! Join Gunther Tours for a yuletide season get-away to see the colorful Christmas light displays and to experience the mighty thunder of Niagara Falls. Following lunch on your own, we depart for the Canadian and U.S.A. border, so have your PASSPORTS ready! Once across the border it is a short ride to our hotel, the Country Inn & Suites, our home for the next three nights. Located on the Canadian side of the falls, our hotel provides convenient walking access to the falls, (approximately 4 blocks, a 10-minute walk), with its awe-inspiring views, many fantastic attractions, and plenty of holiday shopping! After checking into our hotel, you will have time to unpack and freshen up before going out for a delicious dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 2

After breakfast we meet our step-on guide, and depart for a day of Niagara Falls sightseeing. The tour will highlight Niagara Falls history and sites along the Niagara River Parkway, including the Canadian and American Falls. Enjoy a visit to the Butterfly Conservatory, a year round tropical paradise where butterflies are everywhere, and if you stand perfectly still butterflies are likely to land on you. Next, we visit the Niagara Falls IMAX Theatre, which features a screen that is over six stories high and 12,000 watts of earth-shaking digital surround sound power. Here we will see the amazing IMAX film, Niagara: Miracles, Myths & Magic, and view an eye-opening collection of exhibits depicting the history, legend and daring escapades of the many daredevils who have tried to conquer these mighty waters of the falls. Later we will return to our hotel where you will have some time to sit, relax and freshen up before going out for a delicious dinner at a local restaurant. Following dinner, we depart for a riding tour through Niagara Falls to view the annual Festival of Lights. See the city decorated for the holidays featuring Christmas themes, lighted trees, and animated displays.

Day 3

After breakfast we meet our step-on guide, and depart for another day of Niagara Falls sightseeing. We begin in Canadian wine country this morning and the 1800's Victorian seaside village of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Enjoy some leisure time exploring the first capital of Ontario and browse its many specialty shops and restaurants. Lunch is on your own. The next stop of the day will be a visit to Chocolate FX for a guided tour explaining the chocolate making process and later enjoy delicious samples from the chocolate tasting bar. Do not forget to visit the large retail store where you will find hundreds of sweet treats whether you are looking for a gift basket, coated nuts or fruits, a cream-filled favorite, or just browsing to get ideas for the decadent chocolate lover in you! Our final stop of the day will be at Reif Estate Winery, where we will enjoy a tasting of selected Reif Estate wines. Before returning to the hotel, we are treated to a delicious dinner at a local restaurant that serves great local flavors.

Day 4

After breakfast we depart for the Canadian and U.S.A. border, so have your PASSPORTS ready! Once back in the U.S.A. we will make a stop at a Duty-Free Store where you will have time for some last-minute holiday souvenir shopping. Next, we travel home taking with us plenty of fond memories of Canada's largest lights festival, Canada's treasures, and the mighty Niagara Falls. Happy Holidays!
