Come aboard the “Chelsea Lane Tyler” for a delightful cruise across the Tangier Sound to Smith Island, and discover the tranquil lifestyle found in living on this Island in the Chesapeake Bay. See for yourself the rugged beauty and simply charm of its three villages. Be sure to bring your binoculars. As the boat makes the 12-mile trip out to Smith Island, see the native wildlife and view some of the most beautiful scenery the Chesapeake Bay and the Tangier Sound have to offer. Upon our arrival, we will enjoy a delicious family style lunch at the Bayside Inn Restaurant which includes the Island’s signature cake for dessert, Smith Island Cake. After lunch enjoy a leisurely walk around the Island, or if you prefer to rent a golf cart made for two ($15.00 for 30-minutes or $25.00 for 60-minutes; no reservations; first come/first pay basis) or a golf cart made for four ($25.00 for 30-minutes or $40.00 for 60-minutes; no reservations; first come/first pay basis). As you explore the Island’s many narrow streets, enjoy friendly conversation with the Islanders and learn more about the place they simply call, “Home”. You can browse at the general store, explore the Smith Island Center (ticket is not included) where you can discover more about the way of life in this extraordinary community, or simply stop by a gift shop and pick up something to remember your trip before we cruise back to the mainland. Note: Fast food stops will be made both en route to Crisfield, and on the return trip home.
