Today we escape to the charming seaside resort town of Cape May, New Jersey. This historic Victorian seaside gem is Americas original seaside resort and one of the most beautiful spots in the country. With nearly six hundred preserved Victorian buildings Cape May is noted for possessing one of the countrys largest collections of 19th-century framed buildings and earning the entire city a National Historic District designation. The Victorian houses that line the citys streets are popularly known as Painted Ladies because of their elaborate and brightly painted gingerbread trim. These Victorian gems present a beautifully harmonious appearance, despite each homes unique detailing. Upon our arrival, we will first enjoy a delicious lunch served at The Lobster House Restaurant. Please provide a meal choice when making your reservations. Your choices are Broiled Flounder, Broiled Scallops or Chicken Francaise. Following lunch, we hop aboard the Cape May Trolley for a narrated guided tour around Cape May Historic District showcasing the lovely and famous Painted Ladies. Finally, we conclude our day in the Heart of Cape May with some free time to browse along the promenade of shops at the Washington Street Mall. Note: Fast food stops will be made both en route to Cape May, and on the return trip home.
