The musical tells the story of the remarkable hospitality and community spirit displayed by the people of Gander towards the “come from aways” (the stranded passengers). The story unfolds on the morning of the September 11th attacks after the Federal Aviation Administration decided to shut down the United States airspace, and forcing 38 planes to be rerouted and land in Gander. The town's residents open their homes and hearts to the stranded passengers, demonstrating incredible compassion and generosity. “Come From Away" is known for its uplifting and heartwarming message, highlighting the power of human connection and resilience in the face of adversity. Before the show enjoy a delicious family style lunch (Roast Turkey with Dressing and Baked Ham) at Hickory Bridge Farm in Orrtanna, Pennsylvania. The restaurant offers delicious old-fashioned family-style meals made with local ingredients in a unique setting, a restored 160-year-old Pennsylvania barn.
